Funny eLearning effectively for the corporation. The funda- ENTPs enjoy playing with ideas and especially like to banter with others. They use their quick wit and command of language to keep the upper hand with other people, often cheerfully poking fun at their habits and eccentricities. While the ENTP enjoys challenging others, in the end they are usually happy to live and let live. They are rarely judgmental, but they may have little patience for people who can’t keep up. Cartoon Bank John Beebe, a Jungian Psychologist and Psychotherapist, uses his own decades of experience and that of other Jungian Psychologists to provide a much richer way of understanding how cognitive functions operate in us. He uses seminal ideas of Carl Jung such as the nature of unconscious and its interaction with consciousness, the powerful role of archetypes in psyche to show the dynamics of function interactions within each of us and between people. All his insight culminate into a 8 function model for each MBTI type with each function serving the role of an archetype such as Hero, Parent, Eternal Child, Completing Force, Critical Parent, Trickster Child and Demon. To find out more about John Beebe’s work, see the summary here: You can watch Leon’s interview with John Beebe here: Here is Eric’s take on John Beebe’s archetypes involving all 8 functions: Note: This Meetup is only for advanced folks who already understand Jung’s cognitive functions well. If you are are not deeply familiar with cognitive functions please arrive at 4pm for the All MBTI Meetup hosted by Michael taking place at the same venue. Most of the folks from the 2pm Meetup will stick around to participate in the 4pm Meetup as well.

(Conscientiousness also makes for good dancers, according to the same 2011 study.) But in the workplace, disagreeable men actually earn more than agreeable guys. Disagreeable women didn’t show the same salary advantage, suggesting that a no-nonsense demeanor is uniquely beneficial to men.

“[For introversion and extroversion,] you either get an ‘I’ or an ‘E’ score. It’s a true/false kind of test. It limits the variance of it,” says Riggio. “Most other personality tests measure as a continuum. They can say, ‘You’re a little bit I,’ or, ‘You’re on the borderline,’ or, ‘You’re a little bit E.'”

Hogan requires subjects to fill out a number of questionnaires that together take about an hour to complete. Candidates are given statements such as “I hold grudges for a long time” and “I was born to do great things” and are then asked whether these are true or false. The overall results provide information about your “bright side”, the typical behaviours you exhibit at the best of times, but also your “dark side”, habits that emerge at times of stress and difficulty.
Of all the personality types, ISFPs are the most notable artists. So what better place to set up a vacation home than Grayton Beach, home to a newly opened Underwater Art Museum? If you’re not already, it’s worth getting scuba-certified because less than a mile from the sandy shores of Grayton Beach are seven, massive underwater sculptures about 55 feet down. The charming cottages prevalent in this area are likely to resonate with ISFPs. Plus, enjoying some more beach days in the Sunshine State and channeling the relaxed vibe of this beach town can help cut down on the stress that Adventurers so often experience.

  3. Throughout the 1950s – 1970s, Myers presented her data and personality sorting method to a variety of educational institutions, publications, and psychologists. In 1962, she wrote Introduction to Type, a short but comprehensive educational book that is still in print. By the time of Isabel’s death in 1980, their test was being widely used by organizations to improve employee interaction, career counseling, and many others who wanted to improve personal relationships.

Myers-Briggs is not the invention of white coats in laboratories or tweed jackets at universities. Its origins can be traced to 1917, when Katharine Cook Briggs, a housewife and writer from Washington DC, and her husband Lyman hosted a Christmas dinner with their daughter Isabel and her fiancé, Clarence “Chief” Myers. Katharine liked Chief but according to The Cult of Personality (2004), a book about the personality-testing industry by Annie Murphy Paul, found him difficult to read.
The deeper story, Emre found, began with Katharine Cook Briggs who became besotted with the ideas of Carl Jung, the Swiss psychoanalyst. When her daughter Isabel was born in 1897, she turned their living room into a “cosmic laboratory of baby training”, conducting experiments and drills that would eventually form the basis of a notebook called The Diary of an Obedience-Curiosity Mother. Katharine was responsible for the A-or-B question format, but her main concern was in finding out what conditions best allowed children to develop into “civilised adults”. Decades later, Isabel realised that an adapted questionnaire could become a “people sorting device”, one that could easily be transposed from children to organising a workforce.
